Resurfacing Contractors Ltd recently completed a new 60m² tarmac driveway installation at a residential property in Winchester, Hampshire.
The homeowners wanted a durable, low-maintenance driveway with a smart, modern finish that would complement their property and provide reliable off-road parking.
Our experienced team carried out a complete driveway reconstruction, including full excavation, installation of a new MOT Type 1 sub-base, asphalt binder course and a 6mm SMA surface course. A contrasting block paving border was also installed to provide an attractive, professional finish.
Scope of Works
The project involved:
- Full Excavation: Excavation and removal of the existing driveway materials to the required formation depth.
- MOT Type 1 Sub-Base: Supply, installation and compaction of MOT Type 1 crushed aggregate to create a stable foundation.
- Block Paving Border: Installation of a contrasting block paving border to provide a neat decorative edge and clearly define the driveway.
- AC20 Binder Course: Supply, laying and compaction of an asphalt binder course to provide structural strength.
- 6mm SMA Surface Course: Installation of a smooth, hard-wearing Stone Mastic Asphalt wearing course for a high-quality finish.
- Final Finishing: Careful compaction and finishing to achieve suitable levels, falls and neat transitions with surrounding surfaces.
The Finished Result
The completed driveway provides 60m² of practical, hard-wearing parking space with a clean, contemporary appearance.
The combination of a smooth black tarmac surface and contrasting block paving border creates a smart finish that complements the property's brickwork.
By reconstructing the driveway from the ground up, we provided a robust foundation designed for regular vehicle use and long-term performance.
